Transform the famous cocktail into something unexpected with a few simple swaps.
Born in Florence but beloved around the world, the Negroni is
one of the cocktail world’s all-time greatest creations. Originally a simple three-ingredient
recipe in equal ratio, over its 104 years of history, there have
been countless
variations of the Negroni. Some dial up existing ingredients, others throw in
new flavours
– all of them are delicious in their own unique way.
To celebrate the classic but ever-evolving cocktail, here are just a few of our favourite variations to mix up your Negroni game.
Classic Negroni
A perfect balance of just three ingredients.
You'll Need:
30 ml Australian Distilling Co. Melbourne Gin
30 ml sweet vermouth
30 ml Campari
Orange slice to garnish
Method:
1. Add gin, vermouth and Campari to a mixing glass filled with ice.
2. Stir until glass feels cold.
3. Strain into a tumbler and add a large piece of ice.
4. Garnish and enjoy!
Coffee Negroni
Add a dash of espresso to wake up the flavours.
You'll need:
30 ml Australian Distilling Co. Melbourne Gin
30 ml sweet vermouth
30 ml Campari
15 ml espresso
Orange slice to garnish
Method:
1. Add gin, vermouth, Campari and espresso to a mixing glass filled with ice.
2. Stir until glass feels cold.
3. Strain into a tumbler and add a large piece of ice.
4. Garnish and enjoy!
Gloria
An orange-y alteration deserves a new name.
You'll need:
45 ml Australian Distilling Co. Melbourne Gin
15 ml dry vermouth
15 ml Campari
15 ml orange liqueur
Orange slice to garnish
Method
1. Add gin, vermouth, Campari and orange liqueur to a mixing glass filled with ice.
2. Stir until the outside of the glass feels cold.
3. Strain the mixture into a tumbler and add one large piece of ice.
4. Garnish and enjoy!
Negroni bianco
A light, bright alternative to the classic.
You'll need:
45 ml Australian Distilling Co. Melbourne Gin
30 ml Lillet Blanc
15 ml Suze gentian liqueur
Lemon slice to garnish
Method:
1. Add gin, Lillet Blanc and Suze to a mixing glass filled with ice.
2. Stir until glass feels cold.
3. Strain into a tumbler and add a large piece of ice.
4. Garnish and enjoy!
