Sunshine in a glass, the Lemon Drop martini, a fun child of the 70s, burst onto the scene at San Francisco’s trendy Henry Africa’s bar. Invented (possibly by the owner himself) to draw in the growing crowd of single women, it mimicked the sweet-tart punch of lemon drop candies. A delightful balance of sweet and tart, the burst of citrus from fresh lemon juice mingles with smooth Melbourne Vodka, creating a refreshingly tangy drink.
50ml Australian Distilling Co. Single Malt Whisky
10ml Sugar Syrup
3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Orange twist for garnish
In a rocks glass, combine the whisky, sugar syrup, and Angostura bitters. Stir gently with a bar spoon to ensure the ingredients are well combined. Fill glass with ice and pour over then garnish with an orange twist.
