Created in London in the 1980s, the original Bramble captured the flavours of spring in the English countryside with dry gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar – the traditional ingredients of a gin sour – spiked with a hit of crème de mûre (blackberry spirit). Replacing the latter with Shiraz Gin lends the drink a more subtle fruitiness and a gorgeous red hue, courtesy of its wealth of ripe Australian Shiraz grapes..
50ml Australian Distilling Co. Gin
20ml Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
20ml Sugar Syrup
10ml Australian Distilling Co. Shiraz Gin
Combine Australian Distilling Co. Gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker
filled with ice and shake well for at least 5 seconds. Strain into a double rocks glass with
fresh ice. Top with crushed ice and drizzle Australian Distilling Co. Shiraz Gin over the top.
Garnish with thinly sliced orange peel.
