Created in the Savoy Hotel’s legendary American Bar in the early 20th century, the Hanky Panky is a sophisticated and punchy drink that epitomised a post-World War 1 era of celebration and excess. The gin’s rich sandalwood and lemon myrtle botanicals deployed in this uniquely Australian reinterpretation mingle perfectly with the heady sweetness of the vermouth, while the fernet complements the distinctly West Coast notes of Boronia Flower.
45ml Perth Gin
45ml Sweet Vermouth
1tsp Fernet Branca
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled coupette glass. Garnish with thinly sliced orange peel.
