Craft spirit maker Australian Distilling Co. has been recognised on the global stage at the 2022 International SIP Awards, adding an outstanding 31 awards to the brand’s already impressive collection, including a Best of Class platinum medal for their Adelaide Gin. The brand’s Sydney Gin, Bondi Gin and Adelaide Vodka also took home platinum tasting medals, whilst the Australian Distilling Co. Vodka and Shiraz Gin both received an Innovation Award, given only to spirits deemed ground-breaking and original. Double Gold medals were awarded to Rhapsody Gin, Gold Coast Gin, Perth Gin, Fremantle Gin and their namesake Australian Distilling Co. Gin.

Regarded as one of the top review authorities across the international spirits industry, this year’s SIP Awards were considered one of the most competitive awards yet, with a record-breaking 1270 submissions from around the world. The awards are highly respected in the hospitality industry and are designed to help producers discover consumer insights. They are judged by a group of carefully chosen consumers from a wide range of demographics to guarantee a level playing field for all brands.

Australian Distilling Co.’s performance is even more impressive given the SIP Awards themselves acknowledged that due to the high number of entrants, even a SIP Awards Bronze medal is an extraordinary accomplishment as many competitors went home without any recognition.

The brand’s founder, Michael Hickinbotham, is fiercely proud of Australian Distilling Co.’s success, given the SIP Awards are the only international awards that utilise consumer-based judging.

“To receive such high recognition from international consumers is a huge achievement and an honour. We were blown away by these results as we received more awards than any other Australian-based distiller,” he said.

Australian Distilling Co.’s unique method of sourcing inspiration from extraordinary destinations across Australia sets them apart. The Australian Distilling Co. portfolio includes 17 beautifully crafted products, with a range of innovative new products on the horizon. They have also recently expanded their distilleries with the opening of a Darwin and a Fremantle location and plan to continue building distilleries throughout Australia.
